Fantastic mold and slug for the DIY guy. Shoots awesome outta everything I feed it thru. Not a real long range projectile but 100 yrds and maybe stretched out a little more.
filled the hollow base with wax. check out castboolits, some guys are filling the bases with hot glue. Helps tighten up the groups. Slugs are just as they come out of the mold.

I just shave paraffin wax into a spoon and melt it with a burning candle under the spoon then pour into the base , after it solidifies, I trim with a knife. Melting a candle and letting the dripping fill the base will also work but it takes too long.
What is your recipe & where did you get it? I’ve been shooting Lyman slugs for several years and their data shows 23.0gr Unique with their 525gr slug. Accuracy is pretty good at 50 yards (2 1/2”) from an 870. Sabot slugs are wonderfully accurate but who can afford $4-$5 each time you touch the trigger? Best of luck.
I got the recipe from Lyman reloading manual. It does say to do 23 grains of unique but I’m a weakling for full power so I purposely did a lighter load. I still need to do a work up. I’m so new to reloading for shotgun I almost need a mentor lmao.
