Apparently Hornady hasn't given up on the 17Mach2 cartridge, since they are introducing a new, no lead load for it. I won't be purchasing any at those prices, but the fact that they are even making it, is a good sign for the cartridge.

Can't go wrong with the Mach 2. Too bad it isn't more popular up here... Compared to an HMR it is much more cost efficient and just as effective for those closer shots. The fact that it also doesn't heat the barrel up as fast as an HMR is another plus. Never could figure out why the HMR was so much more popular then the Mach 2.

I have never owned a 17HMR,and I doubt that I ever will.Out to 125 or 150 yards, the 17Mach2 does a great job, beyond that,my 22Hornet outperforms the 17HMR for about the same price, considering that I shoot handloads.I actually just purchased my fourth 17Mach2 today,a slightly used Ruger 77/17.I did sell my 10/22,because I really prefer bolt actions, and I sold my Marlin because I prefer more machined parts vs stamped parts, but once again,I own two 17Mach2 rifles.
