The New Olight Osight S is a micro red dot sight that has a unique charging system, 3 reticle modes, Shield RMSC footprint and a lot of other features. We do a full review and torture test

Thanks for the heads up 1ABNDT, the micro unit with enclosed emiter is pretty nice, many of olight's products with sealed in rechargeable batteries are at some point going to be no longer usable, olight says they will help replace batteries down the road but this is the first product from them that is lifetime warrantied including batteries.

The extra screws included in the organizer is a welcome touch in a world of different standards.... the only thing the micro model could use in the box is a RMSc to picatinny rail adapter.

I've been running 3 of the original large-window OSights on Handguns, PCCs and as an offset Red Dot on rifles equipped with LPVOs. I have encountered no issues whatsoever. The magnetic Charging Dock that holds enough juice to completely charge the OSight 3 times over with a 50,000-hour run-time, is an outstanding design. There is a lot to like about the OSight and its huge viewing window on par with the Holosun 507 Competition model. Priced at just over $200, you really can't go too far wrong with the OSight. It may not be as durable as an RMR, but it seems plenty sturdy enough for casual use, "gun games" and possibly even (subject to further durability testing), self-defence.

Bartok5 Do you think these are Durable enough to withstand shotgun recoil?

Some early reviews out there seem to show glass failures at 6 feet drop tests but seem to pass 3 foot drop tests which osight units are rated for. How does that compare to competing reflex sights sub 300$?

Is that the dual lensed smaller S or the single lens larger RMR unit?

Any links to these early reviews showing the glass failure? I'm curious how the tests are done.... looking at the S version it does look like the glass on the rear is fairly flush with the housing which caught my eye...

Is the olight x single lens and the olight s dual lens (enclosed emitter?)
Correct, in the gunsandgear test he says that it's pretty typical for large window reflex sights to not stand up to being dropped from chest height directly on to a steel plate , optic first..... he claims typically the smaller and enclosed units are a bit more durable which makes sense.

I like the idea of the enclosed emitter just to keep dirt and debris out and plan to run one on my little badger..... :)

I watched hours of marketing material last night before placing my order and didn't realize that s model was enclosed and the x wasn't. They made it sound like s was small and x was large, that's about the only difference they emphasized. Good thing they accept returns.

Well #### if its got your vote of confidence I might just have to get one.

The S is very clearly labled several times as enclosed on the main oilight page but the .CA website doesn't highlight it as much and only mentions it once.

Some of the reviewers and the guy doing the apple like talk did not make a point of endlessly pointing it out that's for sure, which one did you order and now want to return?

I'm glad to hear that. I just bought a "new in the box" OSight to run on a PCC. Thought I'd give it a try and the price was right ... like half what I paid for a Holosun. I do like the Holosun a lot but having multiple $600 sights adds up pretty quickly.
