Going to purchase a 204, this rifle is going to be used as a gopher killer and a coyote calling rifle it will also ride in the truck for predator/varmint control around the farm. I wanted a shorter barrel so I'm leaning towards a Vangaurd Varmint Special or a Rem VTR. Any advise on these or any other rifle would be apprieciated.

I'm very happy with my CZ 527 American in .204, but its very lightweight (6.3 lb) and has a sporter barrel (21.9 inches in length), so I'm not sure how useful it would be for gopher whacking. It is however an excellent calling rifle.

I have the handi bull barrel in 204, very accurate with 40 bergers, but lightweight it is not, with sling, scope and bipod it weighs 10.5 pounds...
