So been looking around at new .22lr bolt action looking at the ruger precession and got my hands on one today and must say it felt nice and solid well balanced but worried about some of the reviews about feeding issues not to concerned about getting a lemon in the accuracy side as I would have no problem replacing the barrel. Now this tika t1x has killer reviews in the accuracy department but I don’t care for the stock and would end up putting it in a mdt chassis bringing the cost up Problem is I can’t find a tikka anyplace and was wondering the street price on the tikka I can grab a ruger for 599.00 plus tax so anyone know where there is a tikka near the gta or Barrie area would like to handle one

Of those two? I'd pick a CZ452. :)

Kidding aside, I'm a CZ/Anschutz fan primarily...but am seriously considering a T1X. I'm a recent convert to Tikka centerfire rifles but do my volume shooting with 22s. It's only natural. I seriously wanted a Ruger Precision rifle in 22, having shot the RPR in 6.5 CM and liked it. However, the reviews are far too spotty to risk that much $ on the 22LR version of the rifle. In my opinion. $600 gets you allot of gun if you're looking at CZ/Tikka...both of which have better reputations for accuracy, and good build quality.

Just this guy's opinion. Good luck!

If you want a bolt with an MDT chassis for a reasonable price have a look at the B22 Precision. It's not a full featured chassis, can't swap out the butt stock and it doesn't have a barricade stop. It does have the perfect bedding dealio and a swappable grip. Will be every bit as accurate as a Ruger Precision, likely better. A Tikka will most likely be more accurate but as you mentioned you have the added cost of a chassis

Ya if I could find a tikka for 600 it would be a very easy choice to go with the tikka because the ruger is 599 at bass pro in vaughn

I'd look into the CZs as well. the 457 interests me. the 457at-one in 17hmr especially

I own a T1X, CZ455 and a RPRF. My vote is the Tikka it just destroyed the gopher population last summer at the lake. Light accurate and reliable. The only thing that would make it better is if it was available in stainless.

CZ makes some nice 22lr bolt guns. If your not into wood, I think they have a polymer stock. But I like the Tikka's, everyone I've looked at seems to be well built with smooth actions.

The tikka is really nice. I have used one recently, and I own the Savage B22 precision. If you could find one of the savages to look at I would suggest that over the Ruger. I find it extremely comfortable and really like the accutrigger going down to 1.5lbs. Only tested at 25 yards so far but I was very happy with the group's, got 3 group's below .2 inches using cheap federal 525 bulk ammo.

I have a T1X in .17 hmr so accurate, I know It's not a .22Lr but these rifles are quality, sub MOA at 100 yds easy in the stock configuration.

Or a decent stock option?

I have a CZ452 in a black Aeron Chassis. The wood was too traditional for CRPS play but it's a pretty slick bit of kit now.

Had a hard time finding the chassis but ended up getting it from England.

I also put the YoDave spring kit in and the trigger is now running at about 3/4 pound.

I also have a nice Anschutz and they both shoot about the same. Not that the Annie is bad, just that for the money, the CZ is quite good.

I also have an FX DreamLine PCP air rifle in the same chassis. The idea is to practice in the basement with about the same ergos as the 22LR. It does help.

I have a 455 lux that I absolutely love but I just got a T1X and it might take the cake. I've been getting great results with the factory configuration using cci SV. Yet to do more testing. Currently waiting for my MDT LSS and top rail to arrive at which point I'll be topping it with my Leupold mk4 (overkill a little?)

Regarding the factory T1X stock, it's much nicer than it looks. Feels very solid and the stippling feels nice. Another option is an oryx chassis. Just over $500 before shipping and tax but you get the chassis complete with a grip and integral butt stock. Also go big tactical has a deal on the KRG bravo. You get the chassis with a rail and extended mag release. (Just the stock is $555 but w/ the extras it's like 575 +/-. Not a bad deal)
