new 22lr target scope

Thought I would update. Went with a sightron s3 10-50x60. Mainly because of the 15 yard min focus, track record, and value.

Ya I hope so! Finding scopes with a good amount of zoom and min focus under 25 really limits scope choices. It was really only the sightron,golden eagle or the nightforce comp but its right at 25 and way out of my budget.

Both my Anschutz wear a Sightron 8X32X56 with LRTD fine cross hair with a dot reticle. I shoot mostly 50 yards and also some 100 yards with them. To me, this is the perfect set up for precision rimfire bench shooting.

I will most likely be 20 to 30 zoom at 50 yards and at 100 yards probably start at 30 and go up to what I can comfortably shoot with. The max I have ever had was 24 zoom and used 20 at 50 yards but felt very lacking at 100 yards when trying to shoot for tiny targets. My reasoning is with a 50 zoom scope and mostly using between 25 and 35 zoom I am right in the middle of the scopes range and should have a generous eye box. With my old scope I was always maxed out on zoom and had little room for error with the eye box.

No problem. Once I get the scope and start using it I will update on how I make out and what zoom ranges I end up using. Because I use a bipod in the front and rear bag in the back I doubt my setup will be stable enough for above 40 but if it is that will be awesome. It will really come down to how friendly the scope is and from what I have seen on youtube things look positive.

Reason I ask is that I am just getting into more serious .22 LR shooting and I have a Leupold with fixed 36x magnification and wondering if it will be suitable for both 50 yards and 100 yards. It has an adjustable objective for managing any parallax issues.

A Leupold 36X with AO will work very well.

NV. That scope is fine. Most guys in us using lesser quality scope similar power and getting great scores at 50 and 100. Weaver is what many are using. Your leupold is a little more clear.
