Took her out for quick run to see how this bbl will do and was very pleased. Conditions were horrible, hard gusty winds coming mostly across but all over. Brass was sized .243 win and loads were just random picks from what I had on hand. Very excited to get some load work done when conditions are better with some fire formed brass. Surprisingly the 140 SMK's seemed better then the 130 bergers. Not bad for a Stevens 200 with a 150$ Shilen bbl

Hard to complain with results like that.

On a side Note :

Your 'on target' numbers may be off due to the pictures. Make sure you have the camera level and parralel to the image, with the group centered in the picture. Camera focal lengths less than a 50mm will start to distort the image (imagine the fish eye effect from a 14mm). A Longer lens is better at keeping lines straight.

The first three look good, however, your last two images are angled. Depending where you placed the reference, your groups could grow or shrink.

Remember, the program is only as good as the inputs you give it. Garbage in = garbage out.

Conditions were near perfect tonite so I grabbed my gun and took of to fireform the last of my brass. I learned a couple things about my bbl, it likes to shoot clean and it gets dirty fast. I see that hand lapping might be worth extra $$ on these bbl's. Typical group below virtually no wind. Just using a cheap mueller scope so that has to go, get my fire formed brass sized and ready then some load development. Their is actually a 4th shot buried in their but it didn't effect the group size so I didn't mark it and yes I know small groups are pretty much meaningless. I will shoot 5 shot groups once I start load development.

When bullets dissappear into the same hole, how much more shooting do you need to do?

As long as the groups repeat, that is a true indication of the accuracy potential of your rig.

Great work, great shooting and a very nice set up.

Enjoy...
