I'll give them a go on a few white-tail does and see how they kill. The deer I have shot so far with 250 grain Factory .35 whelen did not "die well". I think the big slugs are going through without opening much on deer sized game.

Thats true, an say for us down under, alot of blokes use the 35w for Sambar hunting, but the 200-250s are too hard to do much on say a fallow deer, or a goat even. So the 180gr could be an alright thing if these blokes dont own any inbetween cals and dont reload.
admittingly i chose the whelen to shoot big 250grs at a decent velocity to smash through scrub on its way to thick skinned heavy boned sambar (=elk) in close.
if someone does get there hands on a pack, do up a review with some pics.
