New 350 Legend upper

Just bought a 350 Legend upper, installed it on an existing M4 lower, took it to my range , and it jammed on every round with the rear of the cartridge being tilted up and the bcg under it. Very frustrating! Did some research, bought an H3 buffer and went back to the range with better results but now the fired case does not reliably eject. In the first case the buffer was too light and in the second it is most likely too heavy. Can anyone tell me what combination of steel and tungsten weights in the buffer might give me the best chance for a properly functioning rifle?

Get an adjustable gas block. Fiddling with weights is just silliness in my opinion. Also, better to ask on a US forum where they’re much more likely to have direct experience with the .350 Legend in an AR platform. We haven’t been able to shoot our ARs for 2 years? Maybe 3 now? It’s been a long time.

Almost 3 years - May 2020 they got banned. I was thinking the same thing, CGN might not be the best place to look for AR advise at this point, especially for a cartridge as new as 350 Legend.

Plenty of people are still shooting their ARs and other prohibs. The OP could extend the logic he has already excercised and try a buffer inbetween the two he has already tried. Beyond that an adjustable gas block is another good idea.

Thanks to all. I have been on US sites and advice is plentiful and all over the map. Everything from drilling the gas hole to modding the mag. Most seem to have the best luck playing with the buffers, using a combination of steel and tungsten weights. Just thought one of you Canadian nuts would have the definitive answer.

OK, here's what worked for me. I tried an H3 buffer and it caused a different kind of jam, with the cartridge tilted down instead of up. Made up an H2 buffer which worked well for round 2 and subsequent but would jam on round 1 when releasing the bcg. the solution ended up being the H2 buffer combined with an anti tilt follower in the mag. I'm now confident enough in the functioning of the rifle that I Plan to use it for deer hunting this fall. Cheers!
