actually the 338f is an improvement because it fits in a short action rifle and burns about 25% less powder.
2500 fps with a 225gr bullet this morning in the 358IMP, with both H4895 and RL15. BC .484

Did you confirm those velocities over your chronograph?
The .338 can't however compete when you start comparing with heavier bullets as they exceed OAL.
No contest win to the .358Win.

Not likely, i doubt the 338 federal will be around in a few years, the 30-06 is a classic.![]()
30-06 is a classic no doubt, I've used it with great results in the past few years. 338f just does it a bit better![]()
