I had tables at the Estevan show this past weekend. Did really well on Saturday, so I sauntered past Prairie Trader's table and spoke for a nice 457 .22 lr with a dark stock. Mounted a used Leupold with new Burris medium rings today. Will need to sight it in and put it to work on the gopher patches.

That makes six 457's on the pile now. I am contemplating thinning the pile a bit of some of my 455's. Contemplating being the key word here. They are all factory standard rifles in .22lr, 22mag and 17HMR. Obviously, I can't take them all with me, nor shoot them all, but they all work so nicely, it will take some serious "contemplating" to pick the ones to put up for sale. I did own a special 457, can't think of the exact model right now, but I couldn't bring myself to take it shooting, so I sold it.

Terrible problem, I know.

I gave away my last 2 cz rimfires last fall, a 452 "trainer" basically the cheaper lux model with beechwood stock and a 452 full stock. One to my son's girlfriend and the other to my best buddy.

Nice rifles, but figured someone else could enjoy them. I'm now stuck with shooting a couple of Savage mk2s because that's what's left.

hard to beat the 457 for versatility in a bolt action.

I have three and all three are very different. One is a youths setup. One is a nice all rounder great for anything from production class competition to off hand plinking. And one built up for open class competition.

Still would like another for iron sight use. And maybe on in 17 hmr or 22wmr just cause.

I love the CZ457’s and just keep buying more variants, HB Varmints,MTR’s, thumbholes, Royals…short 16” barrels and 20 inchers. And a pile of the 452’s also in .22LR and 17HMR. I leave a 457 in a Boyds At-One stock in saskatchewan so I don’t have to fly with my toys because it is a PIA. Bought the exact same model when I got home because I liked it so much. Like the man said… Just Because and Why Not !! Keep ‘em all !!!!!

I picked up an AT-One about 4-5 yrs ago, last of them being at 999.00. Even with the adj stk it didn't fit me, too short, cheekriser not high enough. There were extended length butts and cheekrisers avail at the time, but, that would have been a 300.00 bill landed from Boyd's at the time. And the rail/ring combo I had was too high, needed to knock off about 1/2" in height with the Boyd's stock cheekriser, and it seemed rickety when extended up that far, so I balked at that. And I had the CZ 25rd mags too, which it turns out sat too low, were really super krappy feeding. Was ready to turf it. Sat on it for a couple of yrs and kinda cursed at it.

Last fall, broke down, decided I'd try out the ND mags, got a couple on sale Black Friday, had grabbed some used 30mm dovetail rings to try out too, at a gun show. Scored a cheap set of low Burris XTR Signature ringsoff CGN, which were not avail at the time I got the gun, but, are now. Grabbed an MDT Field stock for it on the Black Friday sale. Put the stock on, low 30mm dovetail rings. that all fit nice, waaaay more comfortable than the Boyd's stock. Also put in some Yo Dave springs.

Sat in the safe til yesterday, finally got out, worked like a charm with the ND mags (15rd) Feeding issue was totally cured, that was a serious relief. Was blowing, gusty, 3-12mph, 25yds was impressive, 50 was starting to get interesting with the wind (tail from 3-9, mostly 5-7:00), I like playing with wind. 100yds started showing wind somewhat more seriously, which was fun to play with, but, all I wanted was to establish rough water lines anyway, so, that was OK.

Used 4 different types of ammo, CCI Stingers and Fed GMM seemed to work "ok" at 50, ran out of the CCI, want to try those at 100 and 200, next time out, I have a brick or so of those still. Also had some Eley Club and some S&B, held minute of gopher anyway. Got to check out an Athlon chrono too, works great, as expected. Definite improvement over setting up the Oehler or Magnetospeed.

Nice to have everything working the way it is supposed to for a change, comfortable to shoot and feeding properly, can actually concentrate on shooting again, instead of fighting things..
Have to try out some "decent" ammo and see what that gun likes, Easter gun show is in 9 days, shud maybe be able to find what I want. Can use the Stingers & S&B for gophers most likely, see how or if it likes some Imperial, WW and some SK that I have too, they'll likely hold minute of gopher head to 100 at least.
Will also check to see if I really need to use the XTR rings to 300yds, be OK with existing at 200, not 100% sure about the 300. The MDT stock can easily handle working with the rail and low XTR rings, whether or not I'll like the feel of that, has yet to be seen for certain. May get an Arca rail for it yet.
