Here's a wildcat I would love to get my hands on, in a bolt gun: 223 case necked up to .277. Of course, it's intended for the AR platform (same bolt, stanag mags, everything but the barrel). If the AR was non-restricted it would make a dang fine Blacktail rifle for our little coastal tree nippers! Looks like it has the benefits of the 300 BLK and the 6.8 SPC without some of the drawbacks of either. I see they're offering dies and pre-fit Savage barrels, so that would be an option as well...

Anyone else heard of this one?

less performance than the 6.8 SPC and the only benefit I see is cheaper brass and uses 5.56 mags, 6.8 SPC mags and brass are not hard to find or not crazy expensive. I feel the performance loss takes it out of the running for most big game, for me anyway, maybe ok for small blacktails but I don't hunt them.

Go back to the 1970's and you will find all the info you need on every possible wildcat that has even been done on the 223 case. This is very old news.

The best hot rods on the 223 case was the TCU family. The 7TCU and 6.5 TCU would be far more interesting to me.

So would the 6.5 Grendel.

But enjoy...
