If you are careful and don't hog into it when feeding on a mill then theoretically it would last for 100 or more. If you are rough and hit the sides then maybe just one...

We have changed the way we make our 80% AR-15's over the years. It used to be what we considered would be acceptable (as well as how we interpreted the CFA) but since it has become such big business we have adopted the Yank standards which are quite clearly listed on the BATFE website and have the EXACT Do's and Don'ts of what is and isn't acceptable. By using their standards we can simply refer people there when they have questions as well it is much, much easier to find info on the 'Ol Interweb Machine. Make sense ?

Awesome, good to know. Looks like I'll be waiting for the unanodized upper/lower combo to come back in stock and selling my older one to someone with a bit more experience/skill.

I don't think so. We have already anodized the uppers and will be making more lowers soon. They didn't sell nearly as well as the anodized combo. The prices may be going up for all of it as well, just had to buy more forgings and OUCH ! the low dollar is killing us.

price for an 80% lower going up from $229.00???? really,,,isn't that already about 3 times the price we buy them from the US ???

Yup. You exchange any Cdn. for USD lately ? I have, and it cost me $1.41 Cd. per $1 USD. Our price for the 80% lowers has not changed since the dollar was par. That means we have taken a 40% loss in revenue over the last 2 years or so. This is not uncommon in any industry that has to import raw materials from the US or pay suppliers in USD. Learn to love it, I don't see it getting any better with Pretty-Boy JT spending us into oblivion !

Instead of complaining about the price going up....maybe just buy one now and not worry about it.

The 80% 1911 frames are very competitively priced to the US.
