Just finished my new build.
The stats:
Remington 870 magnum receiver
Police forend
Remington "law enforcement only " folding stock
Stainless mag follower
Performance spring
NEA 14 inch barrel (which fits and works flawlessly)
1 shot mag extension

Big thanks to Casey at TacOrd for supplying most of the parts, and for prepping my barrel with polishing and bead installment.
Only thing is that the stock is missing the rubber, which makes it uncomfortable when shooting, also when in the folded position it makes for metal to metal contact.

Anyone have a good idea on how to install some padding?
Also im looking for a 2 point plain black nylon sling for this unit, anyone wants to sell me one send me a pm please.

Beauty vintage build. As a suggestion, (wouldn't be the prettiest) but maybe line the inside of the metal folding stock with some Velcro or rubber tape, and have the tape lining slightly covering the edges so that when the stock is folded, there is no metal to metal contact.
 
If you plan on shooting your 870 to any degree, I predict you'll ditch the stock sooner or later. They might look "cool" but user friendly they are not.
 
Cool gun. The forend is actually called a Speedfeed used on many 870 models, including the Police.

I got the gun from an auction, mag extension from TacOrd, heatshield from EE. Follower from S&J. Walmart sling. Looks rusty in the pic, but its not. paint is still really good.
 
Never thought to put a shield on it, looks good!

Too bad i cant keep it with the 14 inch barrel, that really pisses me off!

One damn inch aarrrggghhh!
 
Keep the barrel, ditch the folder. It looks really cool, but isn't nice to shoot and a wood stock would still look retro... Great build
 
Get or make a 1" spacer for the pistol grip, that folder is great. I'd find a way to keep it if it were me, as well as add a bit of a pad on the butt. Anything that makes fudd's or anti's cry is worth keeping.
 
Cman, have you actually fired the shotgun yet? Is this stock to your liking? I can't see whete you'd go through 1/2 a box of 7.5's before wanting to pack it in for the day. If it's something you just have to have, 18.5" barrels are plenty cheap and I's always good to have a good selection of barrels around anyway.
