New 9mm HK P30LS vs Sig P226 MK25

Small world, brother! I was in there probably a couple of weeks back, and Gary told me the same thing! But he did have a bunch of 226 mags in stock.

I'll keep my eyes open for mags, and if I do find some, I'll let you know. And if by a any chance you're gonna swap out the TacOps grips for standard 226 grips, lemme' know. I want a set of the TacOps grips for my Elite Dark...if you wanna' sell, that is... ;)

For sure, i'm going to look for some E2's for mine. If i find them, i'll PM you.

Congrats and enjoy it. I know Wolverine was advertising "German" P220s a while back. Is your 226 german made or a US manufactured gun? Either way, nice pick

So after a long day of Driving around. I found one.

I bought a Sig P226 TacOps in 9mm. Pic's to follow when i bring her home in a few days. Got a good deal, and the MK25 was just too much for what you really get.

Tacops gives 4 mags, SRT, Rear night sights, Front Truglo Fiber optic.

First time I have heard that...will the number of them selling as soon as they hit the selves here in Canada....and many more being pre ordered, you are far from the "normal" feelings on this gun. In the words of TDC tho...it doesn't matter how the gun fits...its YOUR fault, not the guns for disliking it!!! :p

Um, yes, I bought one before I'd handled it too.

PS - TDC doesn't shoot DA/SA guns either.

For anyone complaining about the trigger on the HK45, get the LEM kit. The LEM trigger is awesome. I'm seriously considering picking up a P30L with the LEM trigger just to have something a bit cheaper to shoot.

I do not care about that elitist clown at all...

I think the best was when he claimed bullpups were less ergonomic than a standard rifle, and I argued that I shot SKS my whole life when I was younger and I found bullpups to be much more ergonomic. He then claimed that I had no idea or experience since my main experience was with SKS. Funny though because I own two bullpups and shoot the snot out of them.

Have you shot an HK with the light LEM? Apparently that is the way to go. If I could get light LEM, I would go that route

I have the light LEM, it's about 4.5-5 lbs or so. Don't have anything to measure it with.

EDIT: I guess I should add it's on an HK45, but I'm assuming it's about the same on the P30L.

You can buy the part kit @ around $70 USD. The kit comes with everything needed to mod just about any HK pistols. There's two firing pin block spring included, one is a heavy spring witch translate into an 8lbs trigger and the standard spring, into a 5 lbs trigger. It takes about 15 minutes to install on your HK pistol.

The HK45/P30L trigger is far from terrible...its a little heavy/long in DA, but S/A is great but how often are you shooting in DA in all honestly? If your drawing from a holster you can "carry" it cocked and locked, if not using a holster then just rack the slide...or thumb the hammer. Your gonna most likely being shooting the gun 100s of not 1000s if time to get "good" with it so your gonna get used to and become very skilled in comfortable with it during that time as well.

I do not holster my HK45 "cocked and locked" so only my first shot out of the holster is D/A and every shot after that, including ones after reloading where I just drop the slide forward are in S/A until the gun gets de-cocked and put back into my holster. So the ratio of S/A shots vs. D/A is probably 25/1. D/A shooting is great practice and a way to keep on working on your trigger pull "skills" by not jerking the trigger. No one is gonna be a DA/SA expect after 1 range trip and 2 boxes of ammo.

You can also go LEM as suggest above but its not for me...it gives you more of a striker fired trigger feel BUT still allowing you second strike abilities if needed which a striker fired gun cannot.

My advice to anyone iffy about or not used to a DA/SA guns is to give it time and practice. its not hard to get good with them, just takes more time...and do LOTS and LOTS of dry fire practice at home as well!!!

If your more of the occasional shooter who just wants to blow up pop cans and pumpkins then a SA/DA is probably not for you nor is the expensive of an HK pistol.

I owned a P30 SA/DA and still own a 226 Tacops. I hated the trigger on the P30. The reset is far too long. I didn't feel like messing with it, since the Sig feels so good, so I sold it. The P30 feels so good in the hand though. The ergos are awesome on it.

I still vote Sig. Plus the mags for the P30 are a pain in the a$$ to find and $80ish when you do find them. I got mecgar mags for $24 for the Sig from Brownells.
