They (Mossberg) seem to think that NO ONE can handle 12g recoil so they need to add stupid .50cal muzzle breaks and chainsaw handles to their shotguns. I bet you 90% of all shells fired from any Mossberg shotguns are cheapo birdshot you get in bulk packs from either CT or WalMart...and I can fire my 20" shotgun one handed if its loaded with birdshot.

Has anyone used the version with the huge muzzle brake and if so did it (1), make an outrageous noise, and (2), did it reduce the recoil when firing heavy slugs like Federal Classic 1-1/4ounce X 3" ?

Is this for real? I remember when the halibut rods starting coming out with this same attachment, I figured that it would take one hell of a tough guy to pull out your "training rod" in front of the boys and pull it off with out scrutiny. Similarly, this gun looks like it has a big training handle on it. Dislike.
