I had a package arrive from Whitehorse while I was away working, had my wife send pictures to me because I was like a kid at Christmas. Well I got home late last night so I had to wait until today to assemble it. Put it together, threw it to my shoulder and as described it was a sweet pointing rifle which will be a dandy gun to carry. Got to get rings and mount a scope and wait for my shipment of ammo from Tradex. Will be looking at getting dies in the future along with .234, 6.5 and 9.3 bullets from Matrix.

:)Congrats and welcome to the club. Got one from Tradex a while back myself.

And it shoots well.

I've also picked some bullets from Matrix:redface:, that I have yet to try out.

That is the one I was debating on and you snagged it, I know where I can possibly get one like it.

I was looking at their site for another rifle, the same style but in another calibre that I'm statring to feel the 'need' for. I see they have seven Mannlicher style in '.366 Wagner' listed for sale at the moment.

Thanks for cranking up an excellent thread HuntNL, great pictures !
That is one chambering that seems to be getting more popular all the time and well it should.
Hopefully I can fill a Moose tag with mine in the near future...

how the heck has that picture been taken? the sky is throwing me off...

nice rifle BTW :D

EDIT: I think I figured it out... is it sitting on a dock and its a reflection on the water?

WL never been down there but was invited, I know a couple lads in Tasmania

Thanks Kevan, I am hoping to get a caribou with it and possibly a bear as well.

Bingo triple tap.

SB it was a calm day so I thought I would take advantage of it.

Nice picture, J. Keep us posted on how it works in Newfoundland.

Now we need the story of the strange moose antler, and a report on the first hunt!

Nice rifle, now I have to research the cal... Great picture location too! Had a moose with similar antler a few years back, a spiker (two points) One of the points ran from base directly across his eye, had his head turned towards me and could not see me as the antler covered it up. Head could almost be used as a curling rock...

EDIT: .366 Wagner same as 9.3 X 62? Planning on using it for Moose?

Found story. Great tribute.

I couldn't find a Wagner so I had settled on the european 9.3x62 long ago.

a club im glad our Ted pushed me in again, i was away and repented ...

and it s working great on roe deer, try it on your baby deer family you have in your neck of wood. lol.
I have taken whitetail with both my 270 and 9.3 barrels in my sauer and the results are basically the same. Heart turns to liquid and the ribs are throw away from being bloodshot.

The set trigger has spoiled me and I try to get it on any rifle it is available on now if I am buying. The QD scope/mounts have held zero every time so far and the 270 shoots about an inch higher than the 9.3 at 100yds so I don't have to make adjustments when switching calibers as it holds zero that way as well.
