why wouldnt it hold up , the wood is a real HG . the snug it will depend on your work but mine is just fine , if yours isnt then you can always add a platics lining inside the furrule.

i got a chance to shoot my CSA 7.5" 5.56mm . i was quite impressed with it except for the loudness which made my fellow shooters scattering away . Laugh2

my set up are , FAB galil side folding stock, aimpoint micro T-1 and ncstar mount which i bot from hical.ca .

the galil folder is one of my favorite folder , it is very comfy on the cheek and its the right LOP for me, also its at the right height for iron sight or scope combo use.

the mount , was inexpensive and yet , the quality is not bad , i was quite pleased with it. ncstar is light in weight, it is centered vertically. the mounts sits high enuff to clear the removal of the carrier also it doesnt hinder my view when im using the iron sight.

the ncstar uses 3 screws instead of a QR lever which does take some time to install it but its not a biggy to me since i had plans of leaving it on permanently . the 3 points contact ensures the mount is held in solidly.

please note , any mount for CSA rail will require you to remove the factory folder before installation , lucky for me the swivel ring on the galil is set deep enuff that i didnt have to remove it.

due to my aging eye sights , i dont shoot pass 50y. i was very please with the grouping below , i shot 40 rounds total with 2 stove pipes, i dont know if that was due to the mount being in the way, i sighted 20 at 25y and 20 at 50y , my best grouping at 50 was 2.5" , for me im super stoked that i can do that with such a short barrel. i shot with no brake. (ps, ignore the other rounds at the upper right cos some idiot was shooting my target) .

FAB galil side folding stock ....Curtton, nice looking setup!
I have a question about the FAB stock. Do you know if it will provide the same checkweld/angle of the stock folder? (I have the CSA VZ58 11").
I'm staying with the irons so it will make a dif to me.
I looked at the ACE stock but it looks too "flat".

the galil sits a wee bit higher than the factory folder since your plans are to use the iron sight only then i would recommend you stick with the factory folder and improve the cheekweld by wrapping paracord around the arm.

We have seen some shells occasionally hitting the front rail on the mount, some people have cut back the front rail to eliminate this problem. Glad you are enjoying our mounts!

why cut? when you can move the mount back and the 2 screws will do the job of holding it solid . you might wanna mark the receiver so you can place the mount on the same location .
