Picked up a Saiga .223 so thought i would share
I intentionally got it in hunting carbine setup for a few reasons.
1) can change between dragunov and rifle stock ( our police are always trying to find a way to make pistol grips and thumbholes into restricted features.. so being able to easily swap back to hunting stock was a must )
2) The forend is much more bipod friendly
3) keeps your face back from the action a little bit, not essential but i prefer it for when i eventually convert this to Left hand cocking
scope mount and scope are still on the courier ( should arrive tuesday morning ) .. but needs a trip to the gunsmith before they can be fitted.. the sleeve infront of the front post needs to be cut off and barrel threaded and recrowned for a muzzle device and/or suppressor
Needs the scope mount dovetail on the left hand side removed ( i have a different style mount on the way )
it also needs to be modified to have a feed ramp so that i can use steel .223 AK mags, as it is the rounds wouldnt feed because the 7 round saiga mags have a built in feed tab on the front
and not to mention a paintjob ( undoubtedly the hardest part )
so its a bit of a project that will come together over the next couple of weeks.. will continute to update it with pics
