If it is considered a pistol, then the mags are limited to 10. If it is deemed a rifle, you can create a barrel > 18.5" and make it non-restricted.

Once it is considered a pistol, you can't make it non-restricted. So take your pick. Which would you prefer (doesn't matter what you think, only what the techs at the RCMP think)

My (very sketchy) understanding is that if it has an attached stock from the OEM it is considered a rifle. I have read that the same situation affected the B&T TP-9.

X2 but Ive only noticed this with US guns. I believe it falls under SBR. It looks long enough to make non-res with an 18.5". Not to mention easy

So the barrel will extend maybe 10 inches beyond the gun - big deal. Put on a fake can.

The barrel must be over 11 inches longer than the current, standard one to qualify for a non-restricted class.
This is how it looks with 10" barrel (2,5" longer than the standard one):

Add to this one another 8,5 or 9" and forget about calling it SMG.
For this kind of money I will go with nice, short carbine instead.

It's gonna have quite retarded look and handling characteristics with the non-restricted 18,5" barrel.

Some of us like shooting well away from other people, not waiting on other people and putting up with other people's BS. I think it would look sweet with a nice heatshield like a Tec-9

It shouldn't look too much worse than the Uzi carbines you see down in the states with the 16 inch barrels.

Not sure how well those ones handle or balance, though.

You should have seen the Mini Uzis with the 19.6" barrels. If your eyes can handle it, I suggest searching it on google.

Or a barrel shroud like the HK94.
