New AR build from an AR Noob: thoughts and opinions

I just started my first AR build and would like some input from my fellow CGN'ers regarding there experiences with their builds. I just placed an order for an Aero Precision lower from Kodiac and will be putting either a RRA or Stag or DPMS kit on it with Magpul hardware. Any thoughts and experiences with any of these lower kits?

Also, I want to do an A3/A4 style upper, but have some issues picking a stripped upper. I see that ArmsEast has the striped Stag, Questar has the DPMS and RRA and Fabsports has the VLTOR Mur upper. Anyone have any thoughts on any of these? I will likely be doing it up in M4 configuration with a 16" barrel, unless something changes my mind down the road.

Any thoughts and opinions are appreciated.
 
Some people have had mixed results with DPMS LPK's. I have used them on many of my builds, and have never had an issue. I have also used Stag and RRA versions, and they too were fine. Personally, I think any of the LPK's will be fine, and quite honestly, they all could benefit from a trigger job once completed.
 
Pick up an LMT upper from Questar. If you want to go the stripped route, see if you can source a Noveske barrel for whatever you end up going with.
 
VLTOR MUR for the win. I just got mine and it is the tits. By far te niecest upper I have handled to date. A little spendy but I'm building my dream rifle so no expense spared....I hope the wife dosent read this :p
