New AR owner Many Many sight questions lol

My Loan with Tactical Capital came due and was going to pick up a Colt 1911. However with the change in government and the recent attention given to the "AR15". Plus the bundle deal at Firearms Outlet Canada. I decided to take a stand and join the club (strength in numbers). Colt Expanse M4. The Expanse came with no rear sight, so I have picked up a carry handle with top mounted rail. I have some Magpul flip ups on the way. I also have a vortex venom reflect. I plan to try out the different configurations and see what I like the best.

What i'm wondering is Should I run the carry handle with the Venom on top? Or should I remove the handle. Run the Venom on the receiver with the magpuls as backups. I'm thinking I would need a riser for the Venom or remove the front sight post. So many options lol.

Primary use would be target close range steel along side pistol. Long term goal would be to get into some 3 gun not that I have an AR15.

Remove the carry handle and run the optic directly on the rail. Right at the front of the upper reciever would be my suggestion. Although I'm not familiar with that particular optic. Then mount your magpul rear sight just in front of the charging handle. Get whatever riser you need so the dot of your optic sits on the top of your front sight or higher yet for lower 1/3 co witness. Whatever you prefer.

short term pistol ranges: 4moa aimpoint red dot cowitness with your front sight, that will be super fast up to 100 yards

long term 3 gun? rifle course on 3 gun will be 50 to 300+ yards

you need a top quality fixed magnification optic, something in the 3x to 5x, you can do it with irons or a red dot, but why would you want to?

if you want suggestions for a top quality fix mag optic might be best to search the threads, this has been beat to death

By long term I meant still some time before I start attending matches. Running a Vortex Venom 3 moa at the moment. I have been tinkering today and I will definitely need a riser to get up to the front sight post. I have it on the carry handle right now and its a little high for my liking. I guess i'll start saving up for something with some magnification and transfer the Venom to a pistol when the time comes.
