Good morning everyone

I am embarking on my first AR15 build and just had one question

I know that when I purchase my lower receiver that it is the only restricted part that gets registered with the RCMP

My question is, do I have to re-register the AR when it is completed to let the RCMP know what caliber and barrel length is installed?

Thanks

Yes, if the rifle is going to remain in that configuration, you are required to call the CFO and have the description updated. They will have the RCMP reissue you a new registration card with the updated firearm description.

Yes, did it Friday for a lower that I put an upper on (that will remain there). Easy process, 1 call. Interesting thing was it was sold as a lower only, but she told me it was already registered with a barrel length (7.5") so I just had to have that changed to 10.5" BTW, they'll ask you for the barrel length in mm, caliber, mag capacity - think that's it, then send you a new cert. Your existing cert is good until the new one gets there (that's what the nice lady told me at least).
