Glad to see Russian ammo coming in at a great price. Surprised it is brass cased, huge bonus as that lacquer gums up pistol chambers pretty quick I find. Subs or not I am intrigued. Any chance you guys can get some sort of bulk 7.62x39 in similar specs? HP, Brass cased at a great price?

I just received my order and went right out with it. Shot one box of 50rds. Cycles perfectly in a homesteader. Nice, low recoil. I have steel targets set up at 40 and 90 yards, and it was ringing every time - pretty decent accuracy I think. 50 trigger pulls, 50 bangs. Good deal... good buy.

Had one apart...these bullets appear to be the spitting image of the Nosler 147gr. ASP.
Might just have to order a few more thousand...

I bought 1k ($355 total shipped to ON from another site sponsor) and will test once it arrives. I'll post velocity and accuracy out of 4.5", 11", and 19" barrels.

I noticed MFS does not include this loading on their website any longer. Here's an archived copy of their website from 2022 with more information: https://web.archive.org/web/2022062...munition.com/product/9x19-luger-subsonic-jhp/

They're claiming 310m/s (1,017fps) not sure what barrel length. Pretty hot if it's out of a 4" handgun barrel. Anything I put into GRT shows it as overpressure to get that velocity.

I'll pull a bullet and measure the powder charge and post it with the other info in a separate post.

Well fellas, I made this great post with closeup photos of the bullet, case, powder, primer, etc. with chrono readings and saved it as a draft. Now I have no idea how to retrieve the draft. This ammo is great, burns clean, no lead in the primers... I bought 3k

One issue to flag: these rounds do not expand very good. See the pic below; I fired these through a few inches wet cardboard into sand, and as you can see, most of them held together pretty good. There's one that did have the jacket peel back, but its lead core fragmented pretty good. So I'm thinking the lead is pretty hard. I'm going to try again into a row of milk jugs; hopefully I'll see better performance. For anybody wanting to use these against varmints, this is worth knowing.

Also, while I'm looking forward to misterplinker1's chrono readings, my subjective sense is that these aren't very spicy: recoil felt very manageable. Which makes them a lot of fun to shoot. At this price, it's good range ammo if nothing else.

Wet carbard into sand isn't a very good test for hollow point ammo, need ballistic gel or jugs of water to see how they actually open up

Not all HP bullets are made to expand or to be used for SD. Some are meant for target shooting as HP bullets often display better accuracy due to design.

Yet we now have lake of America. They can call it what they want, if it doesn't do the job make your own conclusions.

IMHO, one needs to make a call what they are to use the ammo for. If high volume target shooting or low volume defence shooting. Low volume defence shooting you will want best and proven and backed by law cases ammo; mostly under 20rds per incident. Target shooting, normally over 10k rds a year. One can have target ammo they practice with that closely matches SD ammo they have available.
147gn SD or target ammo may not be the best for the gun or your skills either.
