Hey guys
well I finally did it , took off my strikeforce ati stock and purchased a ati AR-22 6 sided forend stock.
first of all the packaging was amazing, very impressive
only things I'd change is in the packaging more hardware for example only came with one main rail for the top with screws provided and no other rails nor screws to use.
packaging doesn't really say much but you will need to purchase more rails and screws.
the screws from the strikeforce stock won't work, kinda sucks about that cause I now have to go back out and buy more so I can install front hand grip , wish I knew last night while at Cabela's .
I emailed ATI to let them know this also that the screw for the buffer tube wouldn't screw all the way I'm guessing internal threads slightly damaged so I had to grind down screw to as it would only go in so far and buffer tube was loose so to ensure all was tight shorter screw worked .

I also installed my Magpul Back up Sights that would not fit on the strikeforce rails why I'm not sure but they work perfectly with the reflex sight, just have to get my bore sighting tool out and sight everything in.

Now I'm not an expert but I love the new stock this 10/22 feels so much better in my hands compared to my old stock system ATI did a great job, just wish the package came with few more rails and hardware but no worries.
thanks for reading.
Glenn.

ATI was smart to jump on the AR 22 bandwagon. Makes the strikefire look like junk IMO!
Does any of the pics on the packaging show extra rails or list parts?
If so you may or may not have a valid complant.
Fwik, the mag well doesnt take some aftermarket mags. Battledyne iirc.
Hoytcanon knows everything so you should ask him!!!
Other than that, hope you have a great time with your new stock!

Hey
No the packaging doesn't but would have been nice to have more or at least one or two small rails with screws included...they didn't make the old work with the new..
still a great product IMO
I should have stopped and thought a head I guess and picked up more parts....oh well

Very nice stock. I was considering an SR-22 but getting a bare-bones 10/22 and this stock looks like a cheaper (and probably lighter) option.

Hey
not sure about the weight though , I guess I like this way better cause I put it together and put my own thoughts into it ...
sr-22 already comes like that and yes costs more..by this way you already have the 10/22 your just putting on a new stock and old gun turns into new gun..
only thing is ...I need to get more rails , so remember when your buying it pick up rails while your at the store box only comes with top rail...
if someone on here has both sr-22 and 10/22 with ati AR22 stock can weigh them and tell us the difference
It feels so much better then the strikeforce stock.
jmo
Glenn.

I would imagine it would have to be lighter since the ATI stock is polymer and the SR-22 is aluminum. Still I'm curious if any SR-22 owners can weigh theirs and chime in.

well the new ati stock is heavier then the scorpion one but I do like it much better
just wish it came with a couple more rails short long don't matter..
It really improves the look.

The addition rails doesn't come with the stock, you should check the product description on ATI sites first before you purchase it.
10/22 with bare bone ATI AR22 weight around 7lb.

Yes, the mag-well restricted you from using over mags.

Here is my setup, it's tipping the scale at 8lbs (not loaded) with magnifier or not.

hey
nice setup
your correct I thought like scorpion stock it would come with at least two or three, but thats why I posted it just in case someone failed to read aswell...lol
Not sure if Cabela's carried rails for it , not on their site as far as I can see and tried amazon with no luck , anyone find online? ones I found look different and I don't want to order incorrect parts
do you mean mag well will not allow you to clip buttler creek mags together? I haven't even tried yet..

I meant this style of mag or something similar. I've to remove the sleeve for my promag mag.

you can find this rail at amazon.ca, this one is 12x0.48" and it's on sale. Just type in Aim Sports picatinny rail, they have a lower profile but cost a little more. Keep in mind, you might have to drill the extra mounting screw holes and no mounting screws included.

For rails you need specific ones from ATI they have a channel down the inside that fit into the raised part of the handguard

Fabsports has them http://www.fabsports.ca/aluminum-forend-picatinny-rail-p-1792.html?language=en?osCsid=846f8abc6f68f09fa651c274cfcc4d0f
Frontier Firearms has them too http://frontierfirearms.ca/shooting-accessories/ar-15-m4-accessories/ati-6-ar-15-forend-picatinny-rail-aluminum-black.html

As for the magwell on the AR-22 the magwell side comes down really far on a magazine so you need a lot of clearance or your not going to be able to put it all the way up inside. Butler Creek mags fit fine but if you stick 2 together they are too wide to fit you will hit the side of the magwell same with the ones with sleeves they will hit the side of the magwell. I got the Hc3r magazine and the side pocket it has prevents you from using it too ( If you take it apart tho you can remove the side pocket tho ) I have seen photos of an AR-22 with the GSG 110 round magazine fitting in it tho. The stock 10 rounds fit but your like at least 3 inches above the bottom of the magwell bottom so you have to poke them up in with your finger.

I really like mine I am waiting on a couple more little addons then I was gonna post some pics.

thanks for the info
I haven't checked cabelas , I should call and ask them if the rails on the shelf fit the new stocks
I only have the butler creek mags for this and will probably stick with those as its what I already have
I checked on this stock on youtube for awhile and forgot to check if the rails would fit from old stock to new one..my fault
when I emailed ATI I was told as long as the rails description was for the AR15 its fine from ATI , it should have the channel down the centre as Ravage stated
I'd order from ATI but they don't ship to Canada
too bad.

I think he's looking for full length rail.

I ended up going with two 12" rails one down each side which is the full length of the the aluminium handguard and then a 6" rail on the bottom. I had a 2" at the bottom in front of the 6" rail but when I got my UTG bipod it came with a neat piece that screws onto a sling mount nub so I ended up screwing in a nub into one of the handguard holes and using that piece which allows me to use either the bipod or sling or both its just more handy I found. The AR-22 comes with the full length top rail that goes from the front of the handguard all the way back to the fake charging handle this is structure that keeps it more solid and rigid because the two piece polymer sides clamshell around the 10/22 receiver when together it makes a ridge on the top which is the part that channel on the top rail fits over to hold it together then it has 6 screws that holds the handguard and polymer body all solid.

I also bought a 4" that I wanted to use on the bottom originally because of the 10/22 vblock mounting screw part that the handguard fits over the bottom is more like 10" long so I got a 6" and a 4" but the holes would not match up to mount them as a 10" the screw holes on the rails are spaced so you cannot do that so I then put on the 2" at the very front bottom but then switched to the UTG sling nub mount it came with. But the full length side rail on the aluminium handguard is the 12" rail they fit beautifully.

Only real downside to the AR-22 is cleaning it, You have to pull it all apart which is more work then with other aftermarket stocks and certainly more then with the original 10/22 stock. I got my AR-22 months ago and was looking for rails for months and NOBODY had them but now some stores like fabsports have them.

ATI need to make AR style mags for this stock. Why have an AR looking rifle and a silly BC mag sticking out.
As far as cleaning. Tha takedown was the con that pushed me into not buying one.
Atleast it isnt plastic like the mossy. However for awhile you could buy a mossy for $50 more tban just the ati stock.
Pic your poision.

My original plan was getting 3 full length rails, due to the availability and cost so I dropped the idea. I went with individual rail for each accessories. I went with Tapco polymer rail instead. The poly is easier drill the extra mounting holes if you have to. The Tapco has the mounting channel fit perfectly with ATI handguards.

As for cleaning; it's a little PITA to do due the removal of the top rail and whatever you've mounted to it. Therefore, mostly I only do bore cleaning and once for awhile I will do overhaul cleaning base the amount of my shooting.

I find finding parts difficult for anything as not many shops in north of GTA, kinda sucks but oh well.
I forgot to call cabelas to inquire if they have rails in stock...tomorrow
been busy and not much time to test it out....ordered batteries for my bore sight to sight in my magpul backup sights....can't wait.
better mags would be awsome , could you imagine AR 15 style mag for this 35-30 rounder ...mmmmmmmm..I'm sure CFO would have something to say about it..
