After long consideration, reading reviews, and dreaming about one for over 2 years i finally decided to throw down on one. Overall without having fired it yet i am very happy. It is a high quality firearm. The walnut stock is fitted well, the action is smooth and slick. The trigger feels like an original. I will get out to shoot it over the next week or so. The originals are quite rare around here and are restricted. This one is a little bit longer and non restricted. I am more then happy with that especially since the longer barrel might help the 30 carbine round reach out a little further.

It came with a pretty crappy looking 5 round magazine. I bought a pinned 30 round M2 mag at the surplus store. luckily this model carbine has an M2 mag release so it is able to accept these longer mags. I would like to find an original WWII (pinned to 5) 10 or 15 round mag to go with it sometime in my travels.

Some pics.

There were no GI 5 round mags, for any reason, during W.W. II. No 30's until 1944 either. Five round mags are in response to silly U.S. hunting regs.
When you get that far, think Speer 110 HP's with IMR4227.

I quite enjoy mine, it hasn't presented any of the problems others have dealt with, and its fairly accurate to boot!

You bet--mine shoots"like a house on fire", as long as the front band screw is fairly tight. Unfortunately, it vibrates loose after a couple dozen rounds --and I can't loctite it because it needs to be removed for cleaning :(

A little bit of silicone should fix that.

There are different grades of loctite. 242 blue loctite is easily removable, but will prevent it from coming loose. Never had a problem.

I've done loctite before on stuff. When I disassembled I found it a pain to get the old dried loctite out of the fine threads so as to have good engagement when re-assembling.

Is there a particularly good type of solvent that'll dissolve dried loctite? (which won't stink me out of the house)

got the paratrooper model at Christmas shoot very well and fun , the only problem is the ammo is quite hard to find sometime , the best deal is when tula ammo have some in stock they came around 20$ for 50 round , when mostp lace sell them for 30-35 50 rounds
