New B&C stocks installed - pics

I think the mag box might be squished in there, the floorplate just doesnt seem to be sitting flush with the stock like it should. Scope/mounts are fine, they were just on my 22-250 which was shooting under 1" groups for 5 shots.

I havent shot the 8mm yet, probably this weekend I'll get it out to the range

I developed the RL25 load last summer when it was warm out (+25), averaged within 10 fps of the 8 shot string I chrony'd yesterday (6 degrees)

His Remington action was totally different from mine and it didn't sit very well in the stock...The action did strange things as you tightened the screws.

After bedding the rifle holds a fat 3/4 minute at distance....Not bad at all for a factory 300Win.

Yeah, for $400 more...:)

If Winchester can put a B&C on their new stainless M70's for under $1000, Remington should be doing it too...

For me, getting a good stock, stainless barrel/action, and a great trigger was worth the price:

Karl is a real nice guy. He said he'd do the work if I could get it down to him but he didnt want to ship it back across the border for me. I had no problem shipping it down to him and I used an alternative method of getting it back to me.

He suggested that the bolt fluting might not be a good idea if it was for a rifle that shot belted cases. Since my particular rifle is in 7mm Umag, the belted cases deal wasnt a problem for me.

There are Canadian gunsmiths that can flute a bolt.
You risk not getting your rifle back...ever....doing what is suggested.

You fix your mag box yet?

it actually wasnt the mag box, it was my front action screw in too deep, just barely touching the bolt. I filed a bit off and it seemed to shoot alot better now, 4" 7 shot @ 300m last time out...instead of 2" groups @ 100m before

What's that all about?

I have two orders dated Jan 19 & 25, both will be here in the next few weeks...

they probably dont tool up to make ruger stocks as often as Rem

Maybe, but I thought they just picked the program on the CNC and let it do the work...Have you talked to Rick about it?

It seems like it is luck of the draw at McMillan.
I think they have a schedule for the molds and if you miss the run you are in for a wait.
I waited 7 months for my last Remington A5.

todbartel,
Glad you got things resolved.
Have you tuned the load at distance yet?

Jerry mentioned Retumbo working very well with the heavyweights in the 7WSM so might be something worth a look in your application.
How far off the lands are you?

I'm in the lands, just. I havent shot past 300 meters yet, I got a couple dozen loaded up but no chance to go out and shoot. Been either working or its windy (like its been for 2 weeks), maybe tomorrow
