Awesome gun, run some MAGNUM rounds through it, clean it & then you can pretty much run anything through it!

There is one issue with the recoil spring bunching up but is an easy fix if this is the issue PM me

Where praytell due you get new parts[besides Russia and an 8 month wait] Looking for a new recoil spring for a buddy..........Harold

I have had one for Four years I bought it new from Elwood Epps. It jams continously , The camo started peeling the first time I took it hunting after 4 seasons the paint is toatally gone from the pistol grip . It jams regularly even though i shoot nothing but 3 Inch magnums, The bolt handle kept falling out while I was turkey hunting on it's own so I put a dab of epoxy on it. It would fall out simply by catching on the grass. The magazine spring retainer is cheap plastic and doesn't stay in so you have to be careful when removing the magazine nut or everything goes flying. It did'l have a plug when i got it so I made one . The gas adjustment wrench was missing. The pin fell out of the sling swivel and the front sight fell off. Thank goodness a friend in Europe got me anther one as it's some oddball size. All and all pretty much the biggest piece of SH%T I have ever shot. I fell for the video of the guy from Quebec dipping in in mud and freezing water thinking it would be a good waterfowl and better turkey gun. It works for turkey as most time it's one shot. It weigh a ton for a 24 inch barrel. SHAME ON ELEWOOD EPPS AS WELL AS IT WAS A BRAND NEW GUN AND IT WITH PARTS AND THE MANUAL MISSNG ! If you buy one of these decoy anchors then you get what you deserve.

Thanks for the report Looper. Sounds like you got a lemon. EPPS should have come good for the way it was issued to you. I did have a problem with the mag spring retainer slipping. Replaced it with an older 870 retainer with no further problems.

I will give the 870 retainer a try. Good Idea. I hunt in Europe and they love them in Ireland. I really was hoping it would be a workhorse like the reviews but its a no go. Elwood Epps just kind of blew it off like what do you expext for $600. Sad part is i take care of my guns and this one is no different. It's going to be a straight turkey gun where I only need one shot

Since you're having so many issues, what do you say about a swap. Decoy anchor for decoy anchor?

I had a couple issues during break in but after a good clean up and oil it was golden, shot all loads light to 3.5" black clouds. I had it in rain, snow but she still fired like a champ. My buddy had his stoeger in the same conditions and it jammed so many times I offered to let him use mine if I could throw his in the river. Yes they aren't the prettiest guns but they do the trick and are untouchable in their price bracket.

My friend bought the same gun from Epps also a few years ago. It too was missing the adjustment tool and the plug. Packaging error by Baikal? Either way, I ended up with it. I didn't keep it long enough to "break it in".

I've had 4 baikals now. Every time I sell it, I regret it!!! I bought my last two from the Buffalo Gun Center & imported them. I sold one & kept one... I used mine for the first time this past fall & it worked awesome with 3.5 inch steel... Until... It would fire two shells & leave the third on the elevator & not chamber it... I took the gun apart & found that the mag tube had come loose & was unscrewing from the receiver... Cleaned it up, locktite'd the threads on the mag tub into the receiver & BANG BANG BANG, repeat & problem fixed!

LOVE THE BAIKAL MP153!!!

Cheers
