Ruger New Model Blackhawk in .30 Carbine. :dancingbanana: :D :D
Should rock the range quite nicely.

Like to say a huge thanks to Clay and the Prophet River group for getting this in. Quick, easy and painless. Everything you want in a firearm transaction.

If I wasn't busy tonight, I'd be there right now. Tomorrow can't come any faster, can it? I want to shoot this thing!!!

There just isn't enough money for the toys I want - and now you go and post this!

Very nice. Range report to follow?

Very nice. If you don't mind a stupid question, why .30 carbine? I have seen quite a few of them chambered that way lately and I have never understood the draw of the caliber.

Why not??
Reports from the web show a 110 grain bullet being pushed to ~1450fps with very good accuracy. And to quote The Box-O-Truth, "It is very accurate and barks loud. What's not to love."

Well, I got back from the range after breaking in my Ruger.

Muhahahahahahaha.....man, is this a sweet revolver.
I started out close, not knowing where the sights were pointing. Once I got it grouping, I moved back and continued. At the end, I was shooting 25M and getting decent groups. When my eyes weren't watering from the wind, I could get them around 2".
Being a single action, the trigger is nice and light, with just a little creep. The sights are clear and easy to see. The only downsides I could immediately see were the loooooong hammer fall, and the grips may be a touch too small for some shooters with sausage fingers.
Overall, I love it. Using factory ammo, the bark was a little louder than a 357, but there is virtually no recoil, and it's a light revolver. I've got to load up some of my own and try her again.
