Which model is the rifle?

There are new manufacture No1 and No4 barrels available, but most likely you can find a good used take off barrel for a lot less money...

Have you tried electrolytic cleaning? Sometimes what looks like worn out is a build up of metallic fouling.

Used take offs can be had. May or may not index on a SMLE, might require work.

Don't alter the rifle, save the original serial numbered original barrel.

Nick at Vulcan Gun installed a brand new production criterion no4 barrel for one of my project. I didn't had time to try it out. I never heard about no1 new barrel.

ya, I'd be wanting a new production no1mk3 barrel if availlable

check out Marstars cement slabs. They used NOS Lee Enfield barrels for rebar!
