New barrel for my 870 12ga.

I'm looking to buy a rifled barrel for my 870 for deer hunting. My dad was telling me that he knows a few guys that have had trouble with the remington rifled barrels. He says to get a Hastings one instead but they are only sold in the states.

my question is, has anyone else had problems with the remington one? because its so much easier to get a remington instead of hastings. I know the Hasting is a real good barrel but i dont wanna have to drive to buffalo to get one.

I think Mossberg makes barrels for the 870 and they are available in Canada.

What exactly is the problem supposed to be with Remington?

just the gun wont shoot consistantly. he knows of 2 guys with 870s that have remington barrels and they wont shoot as good as the hastings. They have tried different scopes, every kind of sabot you can buy. Ended up trying a hasting barrel and it shot considerably better. I also know atleast 3 ppl with remington barrels that have no problems what so ever. I'm just a little concerned about them, thats all. Wondering what everyone else thinks about them.

Are they using sabot slugs or Forster slugs?

well i know it shoots well haven't tryed it with un saboted slugs yet though gonna have to

sabots. I think one guy has gone through like 100$ worth of shells trying to get that gun to shoot straight.
