If you want 10 inch XCR, buy the XCR mirco which Wolverine sells.
And no, short barrel XCR are not sold in Canada.
Wolverine sells the short barrel in a conversion kit right here

It's perfectly legal to own a short barrel. Once it's installed you would need to register your XCR. Businesses have taken it upon themselves to passively police the gun owning population by simply not selling these items. The excuse I get is "all it takes is one person to ruin it". Wolverine is not the only one, North Sylva dosen't sell short Tavor barrels OR the barrel wrench for this exact reason. I'd imagine Gravel won't provide short ACR barrels either.
If you really want a shorter barrel, you'll need have one made from a blank. I would contact Herron Arms for this. They will need your gas system and barrel extension (or a spare off of another barrel), as well as your rifle to test fit and function. I've have three barrels made and all have been excellent.

I believe 15inch tavor barrels were available at one point? Tv press pass has one and has registered his tavor and unregistered it before.
And seeing as the only acr barrels that are made from bushmaster are 16 inches what do you think they would provide?
I thought after you change a non restricted to restricted and registered the restricted firearm; you can not turn the firearm back to non restricted?
there are already xcr rifles in the registry with short barrels installed so the frt exists. Wolverine is selling/going to be selling short barrels for conversions, I asked this very question in their forum on this site not long agoFor a very good reason, keep them out of Canada until the FA is repealed.
I inquired about something similar to Wolverine several months back and was told explicitly that they are not selling individual parts from the restricted (mini and micro) XCRs. Though now that I see the caliber conversion kit on their site for a micro, it seems they've changed their tune. Granted you would need to cut your upper receiver and also get a short tube and piston to convert a rifle.
Ultimately the onus is on the customer to do the legal thing. If you're installing a short barrel, call the CFO and notify them. In some cases you won't even need a verifier (its my understand anyway, depending on province) to go back and forth. TVPP could probably add to that.

The short barrels won't work with the XCR-L rifles as the fore end is too long and will not accommodate the gas block etc. It just physically won't fit.

Yes you can. It needs to be taken to a verifier to be unregistered. Ask tv-press pass! And cr5 also had his acr unregistered after he put an 18.5 inch barrel on it.
So techincally you can register a firearm and unregister it as many times as you want? Won't the RCMP think something is up if you keep registering and unregistering the same firearm?
