New barrel or new gun?

So I found a Remington 870 28" vent rib barrel that will fit my HP-9, the cost would be about $200. Or, for $229 I could just buy a Maverick 88 w/ a 28" barrel. This would be used for some recreational skeet shooting. What would you do? I'm inclined to just buy another gun. Tax returns are coming soon after all...

You can get a 28" barrel for alot less than that on EE

+1. I think I paid $120 for a 26" 870 Express barrel with one choke tube and vent rib.

Just bought a 28" barrel off the EE for $130 shipped. Much better than $200 + tax and shipping for a new one. Didn't even occur to me to look there first. Thanks again guys.
