New Beretta 686 Onyx Pro 12Ga

Very nice!
I'm thinking about getting one as well but not sure if it's the right one for skeet and if it can handle the number of rounds that will go through it.
I'm tossed between the Onyx and Citori 625 Sporting. I was "told" that the Citori is better suited to handle the skeet rounds compared to the Onyx.
Any thoughts?

I cannot see it being a problem, but only time, and thousands of shells, will tell. I own a couple of Brownings too, what does better suited really mean? Different grade steel, better parts? How many hundreds of people shoot field guns for trap and skeet, due to cost, without any problems all the time? At my club, almost every skeet shooter and they have zero concerns about shooting them.

I'm sure both the Beretta and Citori can handle many thousands of rounds of skeet or clays rounds. But does the gun fit you? That is something which should not be overlooked. I myself lusted after a Beretta 682 for sporting clays but after handling both I found the Citori 625 Sporting was stocked perfectly for me. With the Beretta I would have been forced to add an adjustable recoil pad as I just could not get my fat head down on the stock far enough.

Thad, JMJ, thanks for the info. I'm guessing the sales guy at LeBaron was hoping to unload a $500 more expensive O/U.
Probably going with the lesser $$ Onyx....and sorry if I hi-jacked the thread.

Not a problem.

Congrats, and thanks for the great pics. DROOLING... What I really like (compared to my older 686 ultralight) is that great recoil pad (won't catch on your clothes - I have that one on my Xtrema and love it). Beautiful wood as well.
