I didn't even have a hope in hell these would cross the border. Prophet River just posted a few more today...

The hype - supposed to be better than the PDP, P-10 F and G17... Just released in the States a couple months ago.

A little interested in these, not quite as fugly as the original. Todd Van Langen talks them up on Trigger Time, but he is a Beretta employee so...

And no, definitely not fugly. Kind of like a cheaper polymer Alien in a way.
The PDP is a fugly gun but people go nuts over it. Super chonky and square.

Would have been great to get these at the ~650ish price point they would be selling at in a normal situation but this is where we stand now. Get the latest and greatest at an increase price or have nothing.

No apparently you have to pay for it like with CZ and Glock. Cost cutting BS.
Mine just shipped from PR today, I'll slap a pic or two when they arrive. Hopefully they live up to the hype.

Ugh that’s annoying but thanks for the heads up. Have you found any retailers selling the plates? I didn’t have any luck unlike availability for CZs.

Looking forward to seeing the pics!
 
No they're too new. I'm shocked PR managed to even get any in. The good thing about waiting for the plate is you can wait for a sale on the optic you want.. and black friday is coming up!
As I understand it, they use the original APX mags. So they shouldn't be super hard to locate.
 
If it's really something you're after, call them in the morning. They only had 6 when I ordered my pair, then a few days later, another 6, then another 2...
I'm wondering if orders got cancelled, maybe staff were keeping them on hold... worth calling and getting your name on a list.

Good point! Guess I'll be on the lookout. Hopefully dealers stock the plates once they're in the market.
 
How much did PR sell those? Im curious as link is dead. Any idea if the plate are the same as the old APX RDO?
 
I ended up picking an A1 up at PR. I look forward to doing a comparison with my original APX RDO and see if the hype is justified.

EDIT: Im still looking for an new FDE one if anyone knows where they are selling one.
