Hi all:
I have an old STAR 9mm which the front blade sight fell off!! I'm wondering what the best process is for getting a replacement. Some say that I need specifically a STAR blade sight, but I'm not sure what the chances are of finding such a thing. Also, I live in an isolated Northern BC community where there are no local gunsmiths. Any suggestions?

If you're handy with basic metal working you could also make up and install a new one yourself. I'm going to hazard a guess that it's a staked in style? If you figure you can do this sort of work but need a little more help post up a picture of the slide with a macro of the sight mount area.

What you'd do is make up the replacement so that it's a little taller than you think you need. At the range you'll file it down until the POA matches the POI for the ammo you use.

The manufacturer of Star pistols is long gone. So, as mentioned, it's Gunparts(you'll need the model number) or making it. Try Western Gun Parts though.
