Have pitched the idea around for a bit, I have tree stands and ground blinds, but wanted to build an elevated tower stand for deer season, and do some improvements to an old boys bear blind that he said I could have / use. The bear blind we spent a weekend camping at it as it was a few hours away. The deer tower has taken a few days so far and I have about 1.5 days work left to finish it up. Have less than $800 bucks into both of them so far. Anyways, thought I would take some pictures and share.

How the bear blind started

I doctored up the bait itself. I added a post that has 1 foot increments and I will have a pail 6 feet up, so hopefully we can see how tall a bear is before we decide if its for us. I also made a bit of a fence to direct them directly into a shooting lane in order to feed

The Deer tower is sitting 13 ft up, is 7 X 7 with 8 ft walls. Only reason its so big is I didn't feel like hauling a bunch of 2 ft pieces of 2X4 away

summer student was engaged in " other duties as assigned" in helping me with this

Bit more work to do but we have the lions share out of the way. The deer tower is on edge of an alfalfa field that has 5 game trails converging within 15 yds of it. Hope to give the boy some good chances at an archery buck. Anyways, feed back welcome, thanks for looking.
