I wish but that's never going to happen. He won't touch it with a 10-foot poll. If he becomes PM, what benefit would he gain by doing so? Are conservatives, in large numbers, all of a sudden vote Liberal or NDP if he doesn't repeal the handgun ban? Has he ever promised to repeal it? Therefore, breaking a promise made to his voters?
I don't want you to be disappointed, so I'm trying to let you down gently, lol.
I totally believe he will. On the other hand, I'm not "tied to Canada" in any way, I'm just here finishing up some business that needs finishing. If Pierre fails to bring handguns back, I'll move along to somewhere that lets me buy handguns and/or has a better climate. So I won't be too depressed if he doesn't, I'll just look at it as a solid reason to either head back to the Mex, or take up my daughter and son-in-law's offer to come and work with them in their company in the U.S. .
I think having options makes a person more positive. I'd bet you a Tim Horton's Chocolate Chip Cookie that Pierre will roll back the handgun ban. I won't bet a lot on it, but I'd bet that. I like Chocolate Chip cookies.
If the damage really and truly is done, and will really and truly stay done, then so be it: time to plan your bail-out. But sometimes, sticking with the plane gets you back home and bailing-out isn't always a guaranteed happy ending. If one is going to stick around in the meantime, it helps to be positive. But definitely, have a back-up plan. Otherwise, it would just be too depressing and that's no way to live.
