new bolt action 22lr ???

I just bought the 2005 model FV (without Accutrigger) From Epps on Friday. What a sweet little rifle. BTW, they gave me an incredible deal. I put a Bushnell rimfire scope, but had to get Weaver style rings. I put about one hundred rounds through it on the weekend, but just plinking.

I am very happy with this little rifle, and I hope to get out this weekend.

Feel free to ask any question,
Adam

Think very seriously about a CZ 452 (or even a 453) in any variant. These are in my opinion the very best value going right now. Slightly more costly than the Savages though

I second that motion. With a Hawke Varmint II 6-24x44 (Mil-Dot reticle)scope you'll have one excellent little shooter. On top of that I installed a new trigger spring (CZ452 Trigger Tuning Parts from Eric Brooks) which brought the trigger weight down to 300grams. My CZ also sports a wide trigger shoe. You can actually think the trigger off!

Can't beat a Brno, so x2

If you want a really inexpensive but reasonably accurate shooter, then look for an old Cooey. There is one in the equipment exchange supposedly in VG++ condition for $100. If you can live with a single shot, then you can find Cooeys for less than $50. Naturally these old guns can't match the performance of the latest heavy barrelled guns with their after-market target triggers, but a good conditioned Cooey should easily outpace a stock 10/22.

You can find the TOZ-78's for a little over $100, which is a pretty good deal as these things have fully adjustable triggers and are quite accurate.

Also, the old Mossbergs are pretty nice with full-blown target sights, can be found for $100-$150 depending on model.
