New Book: "Applied Ballistics for Long Range Shooting"

If all goes well, I will be stocking copies of this book.

We did some number crunching and it will be less money ordering through Canada as postage is greatly reduced.

Hope to get the ordered booked today and we will see how long it takes for the pony to get up here.

Should be lots of good info.

PM me if you would like to reserve a copy

Jerry

Thank you Bryan and Jerry, ordered today.....I think I can safely say, this is money well spent!

Cheers!

Its a great book, I was one of the first to get one. If you want to compare bullet/loads/cartridges apples-to-apples, this definitely helps.

Just came home from work to have the book waiting for me. First impression is that the book looks great and I can't wait to dive into it.

Second shipment of books has arrived and those that sent payment will be receiving their copy shortly.

A third batch of books is on its way and I will be sending these later in Aug when they arrive.

For those that have ordered the book and received an invoice, please send payment. I will ship books based on paid invoices only and in the order payment was received.

Appreciate all the interest from those interested in LR ballistics. This is truly a great read and you will find so much useful info.

Thanks to Bryan for shipping promptly.

Jerry

Kind of a sneaky plug but for those wondering about the 338 cal Bergers, flip to pg 328 for a sneak peak into what may be coming.

If this stuff makes it to production, there is nothing on the market even remotely close.

I've been out on deployment for a week now and managed to get a copy of the book from Jerry before I left.

Great book. I'm definitely going to have to read the first section a couple times to fully understand it but some amazing knowledge especially if you shoot with any of the calibres included. Being a .308 fan I love that a lot of the examples and database use it so I can easily conceptualize the lessons.

Haven't tried out the included program but based on the extra info in the book that is in the program I know that it will be very useful, with the G7 form factor and multiple BC inputs especially.

Looks like a great book and I want it, but shipping within the US is $6, but to Canada it's $20. That's the same amount as everywhere else in the world and can't be justified.

Send a note to the USPS and let them know. They set the rates, not the people shipping stuff.

USPS has a minimum International rate and it only goes up from there.

Bryan, good to see you here!

Your book came HIGHLY recommend by the top guys over at the Hide.

I'll be ordering mine Sept 1st! I'm looking forward to diving in ;)

It is a very good book. Litz doesn't know what a circular normal distribution is, but that's the only real nitpick I have. He has both the math and a simple summary for everything.
Good price for a textbook and computer program, thanks Jerry!

Received mine yesterday as well - thanks, Jerry.

Just started to read it last night, it looks like it lives up to its billing. Have mostly been looking at the bullets data section so far. Bryan, I think that that section of your book will likely act as the catalyst enabling the competitive shooting world to "convert" to the much more sensible G7 bc system, which would be an admirable achievement in and of itself - thanks, very well done.

Thanks guys,
for all your positive feedback.

Daniel,
I'm trying hard to shift the paradigm from G1 referenced BC's to G7 for long range bullets. I truly believe that the move will result in more holes in distant targets. My book offers a good number of G7 BC's, and the software allows you to use them, at least on a PC. The challenge now seems to be finding a program that works on a mobile device that accepts G7 BC's. I know there are some iPhone apps that can accept G7's, but nothing for Windows yet. Loadbase 3.0 is going to have the capability but I'd like to see more programs for mobile platforms that are able to use G7 BC's. This will be one of my winter projects. Hopefully by spring I'll have something to offer.

Take care guys,
-Bryan

I received my copy today!! =D
It looks awesome. I'm currently in another book, but I can't wait to start this one.

Thanks Bryan for the book, and mysticplayer for distributing it in Canada! =)

I really enjoy this book... The only thing I see wrong is no 123gr 6.5mm Scenar listed.. LOL.. But oh well can't do them all..

Other than that it is a great book...

Seems to be JDK 1.6, which seems to be 64-bit Mac. It doesn't use any non- JDK 1.5 features, so a JDK 1.5 version, which would work on a 32-bit Mac would be trivial.
Correct me if I'm wrong :).
