I've got it. It's not too bad - lots of pretty pictures. It's mostly a series of reviews of AR's by different manufacturers. Since it's G&A there are no bad reviews, and they try hard to keep each one from sounding exactly like the last, but it gets a bit repetitive.
I bought it about a week ago. It was a decent read.
I do think they are maybe too nice on the reviews. Some negative stuff would allow me to have more faith in their reviews. Also a little more focus on the accuracy would be appreciated for Target models.
Still I enjoyed it.
Also the way they do articles makes it completely useless for comparissons if your trying to decide between one product and another. Perhaps if they used a Consumers report style it would be a lot more valuable.
The joke is when someone who is a Public Affairs NCO is starting to comment on stuff way out of their lane and it getts eaten up since the guy spent some time in Iraq...
Furthermore the low light section - CRAP -- but I dont think any good detail can be put out without truly endangering our troops.
I actually only read the reviews. The other stuff wasn't what I bought the mag for.
Again entertaining read on the reviews but not something I would ever base a purchase decision on. Frankly with just the research I did on the internet I had more information on the DPMS than they did. At least more usuable information for making a purchase decision.
Just curious - at the beginging ( in the prologue or intro), the writer comments on the Les Baer Varminter being capable of half MOA at 600 yards with Black Hills Red Box 77 grain bullets . That seems like some pretty fine shooting - anyone else a little skeptical?
I just got that book ... nice pictures !! But one noobish question , sorry for derailing . Any non-restricted ARs ?? Dont remember the barrel lenght for non restricted weapons . thanks and dont make fun of my
AR's are restricted by name - I do not believe there are any non restricted AR's out there. There are a few that look similar to an AR - AR180B, XCR, M96 etc... that are non restricted - do a search and you'll find more on those rifles.
