Looking for some input as to where to find a good pair of lace up hunting boots ? Been wearing a set of Danner Canadians for over 15 years now and they have hit the point of retirement . What's a good set to look for now days? I don't mind spending the coin as I don't like to skimp on hunting footwear.

I like my Cabelas Iron Ridge, they come in different weights of thinsulate. But i also find myself wearing muck field blazers (not lace up), with good socks my feet have yet to be cold in them even in -15 morning stand hunts. Plus they are absolutely waterproof up to your calf/knee almost.

I got a pair of Under Armour 400g Brow Tine for this season. Will say pleased so far. I’ve worn about 6-8 times in the field. They have proven waterproof even for the wet NL bogs. Warm enough below zero as long as your moving. Bit heavy toward end of day. Not light like a hiker by any means. I got them for a song down in the states at a Marshall’s. They list around $239 in Canada in Cabelas. One of the heel cups started rubbing yesterday , first time it happened. Perhaps I didn’t have them tied tight enough. I think up to $200 I’d would be satisfied with them. At closer to $300 with tax seems steep. My normal boots are day hikers for hunting which I use North Face and sometimes rubber boots for the wet. I’ve also used a pair of Bates mountain hikers surplus from the US. The Under Armour boots are much heavier and stiffer. If I was just walking trails or on a quad I’d use my other options.

If you wore and liked the Danners for 15 years I think you will be disappointed with any other make. I know I bought a pair of red wing after and yes they are OK but not Danners
I love my Danners also
Cheers

I haven't needed to look for lace up boot ever since I bought the Danners, but I have heard they are not what the older boots used to be.

But honestly none of them are any more
Other than maybe LL Bean which are still 100% made in USA and some of the Danners still are I think
I know my 35 year old sorels which I assumed were still made in canada even as I found out when the new ones arrived are all now made somewhere over seas and not the old quality for sure but still ok
I would go look at a new pair of Danners and try them on nd look to see where they are made on the tag
Cheers
yep on the Danners some makes are 100% USA some are like this
MADE IN USA WITH IMPORTED COMPONENTS
We source the best materials from around the world and utilize some construction work overseas before shipping partially assembled components to be finished in our Portland, Oregon factory. Once in our factory, the boot uppers are formed and the entire bottom of the boot is constructed by hand, giving us greater control over the finished product. This manufacturing process allows us to bring you a less expensive USA-made boot without compromising the quality you expect from Danner.

I would go with Danners. Their line of hunting/work/patrol boots really met my needs as they have some narrow widths.
I get newsletters from them and they do ship to Canada.
While I am not interested in their line of colorful, low cut yuppy styles that is what they are pushing today.

What sort of hunting do you do?
Are you strolling 2-3 km through relatively flat deer woods, or slogging 5-6 km through swamp and bogs, or walking 10-15 km over prairie, or climbing 20 km through serious mountains?

A boot recommendation without knowing the application is going to be a pure guess.
