New Boyds thumbhole on my .308!

Hi guys. I just got my third Boyd's Thumbhole stock, this one for my Savage Model 12 .308, and thought i'd share a couple pics. It took me a cray amount of time to decide whether to go for grey, or the royal jakaranda. I kept changing my mind! I also did some inletting and bedded the action/recoil lug. I use JB weld, and it works fantastic.

I have a .17 BSEV with the factory "Boyds Evolution type" in Royal Jakaranda, a Weatherby Vanguard .223 with the Pepper Laminate Varmint Thumbhole, and now the Varmint Thumbhole on the .308. I love Boyd's stocks, and the price point on them is insanely cheap IMO!

Why the scope is so high above the barrel?

Nice looking stock! You need to get rid of that crazy mount and lower that scope about an inch, though How often do you take the scope off and put it back on?

Why the scope is so high above the barrel?

The mount is integeral to the scope, its an ART II auto ranging system. bracket your target, range, and shoot. google it... ;-)
