New Brass Storage

This topic may have been covered before, but I am wondering what is the best way to store new clean brass. I have recently purchased 150 30-06 brass and just resized all and cleaned it. Was wondering if it will discolor and change to the dark tone of older brass if it was all primed and then placed in plastic bag? I thought priming it all would save time later, but will not prime if when I go to use it later (poss year or more) that I will have to clean it all again. Any thoughts about long term storage to keep brass in shinny state.
 
I keep my new primed brass in ziploc bags and they haven't gone dull in a couple of years of storage. Keep them in a temperature stable, dry place and they should be fine.

The colour doesn't mean diddly so long as it's not going green and fuzzy. On the other hand, I hate having primed cases in storage for any amount of time. I always think that you're just asking for something to happen and the primers to go inert on you. Realistically I would be more concerned with forgetting what brand and type of primer I have loaded in the case and then having to knock them all out and start over again. I'm sure that something could befall the primers in their little boxes, but I was taught to not do it and for lack of any good reason to the contrary I wouldn't prime brass until I was ready to load it.

I keep new or freshly tumbled brass either in MTM boxes or in plastic bags.
 
While i dont have any clean "" brass right now as i dont have a tumbler i just wash my brass in water and light detergent / soap , air dry then store in ziplock bags and then put about 6 bags into a 50 cal ammo can ..

No rust , no green stuff , just nice useable brass .

What he said. Appearance aside, about the only concrete benefit of bright and shiny brass over clean-but-dull brass is that it can be easier to notice defects such as splits. Unless it's 3D, it's not going to make any difference to performance. That said, if you want it shiny, go fer it! The dull colour is of course tarnishing due to the oxidation of the brass. Keep oxygen away from the brass, especially in the presence of any chemicals (even in the air) and it will not tarnish.

I generally deprime and tumble brass when I get back from the range and store them in Ziploc food storage boxes - cheap, stackable and no tarnishing to date.

As to storing primed cases, in the long run, you are not going to save any time, just shift the time from one day to another. Priming time remains priming time.
 
Yup, ziplock bags and clean coffee tin/carboard/plastic cans.

I noticed the brass will lose its gold-like shine after about 4 years in such storage, but they are still clean and good to reload.
 
The main thing is to keep brass away from any source of ammonia. I keep mine in plastic containers with tight sealing lids.
