New Browning A5

I'm a Benelli man but having cut my teeth on an auto 5 I was thinking maybe I'd check out the new Browning A5... Went to the local dealer and had a chance to swing the 31/2 version with wood stock.. Fit was nice but I gotta say I was really disappointed with the feel and finish of the gun. The fore stock felt like it belongs on a pellet gun, everything else had a very 'cheap' feel to it.

Anyone purchased one? What are your impressions?

I recently handled one. I too used the "old" Auto 5 for years. All I can say the "new" is nothing like the old. The old Auto 5 points 10 times better and has a better overall feel. Not saying the new gun is no good it is just not an original Auto 5.

I was weaned on an Auto 5-first gun I ever bought 40+ years ago. I handled the new A5 and bought a Maxxus instead. I don't like" remakes"..the Auto 5 has too much heritage.

Thanks to FLHTCUI above I have a 1960s A5. That gun points itself. I just have to hold it up!

Bought mine in june 2013 camo synthetic 3" model it handles and points awesome .have used it for skeet , sporting clays and waterfowl hunting with no issues . I find it points better than my maxus . with not any more recoil . its a solid feeling gun to me .

I have a chance to buy an unfired 1953 A-5. I think I'd better get to work on that. I sold an older one at the Yorkton show, but it had been "varnished". :(
