New Browning A5

I started saving for one being a big fan until the lad at the gun shop told me he saw alot of them with cracked stocks. odd to me because browning is so detail oriented. I'm gonna wait for more reviews.

Cracked stocks?? Never heard of that one yet. Lots of guys posting about them on Shotgunworld have said nothing about cracked stocks. Maybe he was thinking about the old A5's and the common forearm cracking?

beleive me i'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade but I saw it for my self...bran new on the rack with a hairline at the top of the grip. and the guy behind the counter said he had another one just like it in the back. I am a huge browning fan and was super pumped when it came out. I'm sure browning has adjusted this.

It's a desecration of the Auto-5 name. Might be a fine shotgun, but it's no Auto-5.

Picked up my A5 hunter a week and a half ago and have been out for our spring goose hunt 4 times since I got it. So far I've taken 8 geese with it and I really enjoy shooting it. It's the Hunter model with 30" barrel, bought it from the Gun Dealer. Agree it's not like the old A5 enough and think a name I read on the internet may have been more appropriate because it's new recoil system is called KINEMATIC system. Calling it the K5 would have sold the gun to both new and old humpback owners and kept the negative "in name only" comments to a minimum........
I own 2 A5 magnums, a '62 with wood stock and a 74 that I installed Browning composite stocks on. Like the old guns but the new gun is very light and I wanted something that would shoot lighter loads too so I can shoot sporting clays with it later in the spring.
Two thumbs up so far!

I haven't saw one in wood only Duckblind Camo and Black But that wood looks nice

Gorgeous looking gun. Congrats. Thinking about getting one myself to go with my dad's old Belgium made A5.

SHot one a couple of weeks ago, AWESOME!!! But I am a browning fanboy from way back
The old Belgium guns had a big issue with the fore stock, I had 2 split on my gun and ended up buying the synthetic set. I just felt the wood on this gun wouldn't recieve the abuse the older guns got from the barrel slamming into it. But the wood is light, the fore end has a different set up where the barrel is put on with the fore end (at the same time) and the barrel is in direct contact with the magazine cap.
I prefer the wood stock version but if it becomes an issue like it did with my '68 A5 magnum, I guess I would have to get the Stalker set and make it look more like my original A5. Maybe I'll post a picture tomorrow of all 3 of my A5's, some of you will probably like to see the differences.

You are correct with that. Might have the name and as browning says "The humpback-shaped receiver of the new Browning A5 may bring back fond memories, but make no mistake, this isn’t your Grandpa’s shotgun".
Nope it is Benelli's design on the inside from what I seen since their patent has run out. Not that it will prove to be a bad thing since benelli's work just fine. Should be a real good gun if it fits you.
In order for you to see the birds in full view when you shoot the gun would have to shoot high like a lot of guys set up their trap guns. I haven't patterned my gun yet but I plan to do a point of impact test this sunday.
