New Browning A5

Picked up my A5 hunter a week and a half ago and have been out for our spring goose hunt 4 times since I got it. So far I've taken 8 geese with it and I really enjoy shooting it. It's the Hunter model with 30" barrel, bought it from the Gun Dealer. Agree it's not like the old A5 enough and think a name I read on the internet may have been more appropriate because it's new recoil system is called KINEMATIC system. Calling it the K5 would have sold the gun to both new and old humpback owners and kept the negative "in name only" comments to a minimum........
I own 2 A5 magnums, a '62 with wood stock and a 74 that I installed Browning composite stocks on. Like the old guns but the new gun is very light and I wanted something that would shoot lighter loads too so I can shoot sporting clays with it later in the spring.
Two thumbs up so far!
Here's my 10yr old lab Maddy and I from last sunday:

And a picture of my first goose that I anchored with my first 2 shots with the gun:

Very nice shooting Dan, I have the new A5 stalker model 26". Hope to get it out soon. Great looking Lab you have there, I miss my girl everyday.

Here's a picture of all 3 of my A5's.

The top one is the new Kenematic A5 with 30" barrel, the middle one is a '62 A5 magnum with 32" barrel and Briley thinwall choke tubes, and the bottom one is a '74 A5 Maganum with 32" full choke and I added the Browning synthetic A5 stock set which I bought from Midwest Gunworks in the USA.
All nice guns, probably going to sell the '62......

I bought a new A5 camo 3" moinf on June 1st absolutely love the way the gun handles and shoots . I have put 350 1 1/8 oz 3 dram target shells through it to this point and it has been flawless . I had the chance to pattern it on sunday with various 3" steel loads .the gun shoots a very nice 50/50 pattern with the IC choke using BB 2s and 3s with both federal and kents . I was really surprised at the minimal amount of recoil this gun has for being a recoil operated action shooting 3" steel . however I did find that it will not cycle my 1 oz reloads that my Maxus has no problem with . but that ok as its intended use is waterfowl .

HAAAA I knew it would not be long before you had one. Congrats on the new Browning. :)

Haaa I seem to have a Browning shotgun afliction . do you know of any cure :shotgun:

Yep buy more and more. ;) I seem to have that problem more with gauges . Was giving some of my 28ga's a wipe last week and I'll be dammed there was let's just say more than 2 dozen different ones there, three were browning a o/u, model 12 repo and a BPS. Know I bought a few more since joining here but never that many I thought or they must be part rabbit. Scared now to check the 16ga's ;);)
