New Browning BLR Owner

Good choice on your BLR. I recently picked one up I am going to present as a gift to my Dad, but the more I handle it, the more I want one for my own! I'm going a different route and going to be putting a set of Skinner aperture sights on it and a taller fibre-optic sight post, he always preferred open sights to scopes. Should be a slick setup when done. Enjoy your new rifle!

Congrates on your new BLR.

I got a new to me pre 81 in 308 last fall and trying to work up a load for it. By handling it at the range I can already tell the blr has potential be my ideal hunting rifle due to the light weight and good balance.

Now I just need to make sure the rifle is reliable and figure out a good load.

Enjoy your new gun and welcome to the club, the BLR is an excellent hunting rifle, for me it seems the perfect configuration of features. The exposed hammer is a huge plus for me.

I have the stainless take down in 308 and it is so easy to pack along. I find the trigger decent for a hunting rifle. If I had to find a fault it would be the complicated action, it is not something that you would want to take apart and clean in the field, unlike say my Remington 783 bolt that has found it's place beside it as my second gun when out hunting.

If I ever came across a stainless take down in 358 I would grab it so fast. I don't know if they ever made one in 358

Yes, they did make the stainless T/D in 358. I believe there is still one listed on the EE.
