I have an A-bolt and I love it. It has a nice smooth bolt and the quality is very high for a mass produced rifle. For me it points automatically and is well balanced.
Fit is the most important thing, especially if you are getting a rifle that will have some recoil, such as a 270 or above. The fit will make the rifle the most comfortable, and that will make you want to shoot it, and that will lead to accuracy.
This has been said about a billion times on this forum, it should be a sticky. Get a gun that fits you good...and don't cheap out on the scope.
The quality is pretty similar across the board whether you choose a rem 700, mod 70, mk II, x-bolt, a-bolt etc.
