Is it just me or did someone leave the car idling under the VP of New Firearm Design's window at Browning?

An A5 that is no more an Auto 5 than I am an astronaut?

A Superposed that is as close to the original as an original and modern Chev Impala?

I suppose it's trading on nostalgia, but there's no effing way that I'd be caught dead with either of these new abominations.

Firearm blasphemy in it's purest sense. Someone will smoke a turd in hell for this.

Not clear on the Superposed either.

Nevertheless, I felt that Browning finally got something right with their stacked bbl guns this time with the Citori 725. In fact, its the first time I have handled a 12ga Citori that felt different and quite close to the dimensions of a 680 series Beretta.

Surprisingly, the shotgun also felt lighter (despite the advertised weight of 7+lbs) compared to the Beretta 686/687s.

Do you hate dodge for making a brand new challenger that has nothing in common with the 71' challenger? Still used the name.

This is no different. Maybe the new A5 is 50% more reliable than the already reliable Auto Five?

Have you held one or shot one? Maybe you'd love it if you got past the nostalgic name.

I do not know for sure just what is going on at Browning.Maybe their other auto loading shotguns are not selling so well ,so they have to resort to introducing a new shotgun and calling it an Auto 5 to try and get production figures up..

Cannot see that 28 ga. Man there is some pile of the maxus sold, they are everywhere not to mention the silvers and the golds before them. I know where there is 5 alone in two gauges.:D
I think they are just trying to hit a different group like rem did a few years ago when they came back out with the 16ga.

Just an attempt to entice shooters to a new gun with some phony nostalgia. But the Browning copy writers are a bit over the top about the "Humpback Advantage" and other breathless enthusiasms about this gun.

I detest the Auto 5 in all of it's many varities and maybe this one will change my opinion.

I am glad you said it:) I didnot want to upset the apple cart. I had them never liked them and have none now. To me it was a log with a barrel on it. Ok the poop is going to fly now keep your head down:p

It is just another ho hum gun on the market. I like the old humpback, but that said, I bon't hunt with one. Why bring out a new field gun that does not use 3 1/2 shells? Nice old gun but we have moved on.

Probably right,Mac.By the way I am a fan of the old Auto 5,so put'em up.:)

Ford,Chevy,Dodge...
Whatever floats yer boat boys.
It certainky aint the A-5 of yore, but maybe it will stand up to the scrutiny of new shooters/hunters.
Five year warranty and 100,000 rounds might tweak someones spidey senses .
'bout all that interests me is the speed feed feature for those mornings where the mallards keep pouring into the set.

How many know of anyone that fires 100k rounds in a five year period without any problems? I find this a bit hard to swallow.

Tight Chokes,
Rob

I'd worry more about the #### customer service they now offer. I've had a gun on warranty repair for four months and now they are claiming it isn't under warranty because the gun was manufactured in 2006 even though I bought it NEW from the retailer in 2010.

That said, I'd like to try the new triggers on the 725...

Recoil operated semi's (Benelli's) are very popular, and Browning is trying to cash in on this market.

When I read the description of the 725, it basically looks like they took a lot of features from the Cynergy and put them on a Citori. Features such as lower profile reciever, mechanical triggers, etc. . .

I thought the beginning of the video was great.
Out of the water comes the new A-5.
The test of time will prove these new beasts.
I for one don't mind the looks of them.
